| The Boston and Orlando folding dining sets are delivered, ready to use and will not require any self assembly. This also applies to the chairs for the Monaco & Colorado sets. All other items (Tree seat, Garden bench, swing seat, swing bench, picnic table, picnic bench, gazebo, sunlounger) will be delivered ready for easy self assembly. We would recommend that the hardwood is treated at least twice a year to preserve its colour. Without treatment, the hardwood will turn a silver grey colour after a couple of years outside. (This may be the look you prefer!) |
| The nature of Teak means that it will withstand a lot of abuse, but a little TLC will reap benefits. Your Summer Days Teak garden furniture is delivered untreated and will have only the natural colour of the wood. Without treatment, your wooden garden furniture will gradually turn a silver grey colour but, even when this happens, your furniture will still give many years of service. Some cracking and splitting is to be expected. Although Teak Oil will not increase the life of the timber, a regular treatment will slow down the greying effect caused by Ultra Violet rays and will help to prevent stains from seeping into the grain of the timber. The oil will change the colour of the wood somewhat and we would suggest a coat of Teak Oil at least twice a year onto a clean surface. Teak Oil and Teak Cleaner are readily available from DIY stores. Cleaning with a high pressure hose is not recommended! Teak is generally regarded as the best hardwood for garden furniture because of its stability, durability and resistance to wear. |
